Now That’s a Song

savhand
So “The Song” actually sounds pretty good, well at least the first verse and chorus. So what do you guys say we start recording it next week?

If sguitar can record the song and post it and post the words again here maybe we can work out the rough spots. I know, sounds like work. BTW sav your guitar playing on this song sounded great today I’m very impressed. I know I haven’t been teaching much lately but you and andrew are really going in totally different directions musically, hard to plan anything. It really is easier one on one.

Oh how the hourglass has changed
Yet my future seems so vague
I know it’s time to move on HIGH
‘Cause the rest of my life is comin’ on strong HOLD

*music pauses*

CHORUS

As I turn to say goodbye
It’ll be muffled by my cry
there were expereinces fulla content
But now I’m leavin’ here fulla sorrow
And I don’t wanna leave this place…tomorrow

MADDIE

It is in the end a new beginning
Sad yet exciting
‘Cause there are bigger stars brightnin’ HIGH
With more things to do HOLD

CHORUS

Lauren that last time you sang the verse was sweet. I knew you could do it now we just got to get you to know you can do it.

the song

bass and drums

  10. thanks guys now im lauren (no last names) not lauren CONFUSED my last name is normally confused if people dont spell out what they need cause im usualy missing the obvious. also love vibrant picture.

  11. isteve says:

i edited out your last name.

i did a little recording to see what the song may sound like with drums and bass it’s at the top

  12. sguitar says:

i was just wondering why the song i recorded sounds so fuzzy and yours doesn’t. and i am using high quality headphones, and the settings weren’t like on metal or whatever.

  13. isteve says:

good question lot of possibility. my guess is you have what is called clipping. clipping is when something in the signal chain (guitar to interface interface to computer) has to much gain (gain is like volume) now your guitar does not have to much gain so that’s ok. the presonus has lots of gain that can overdrive the mac. so next time open the inspire mixer software and turn down the gain (think it’s a knob) on the input channel or turn off the boost button. you may need to play around to find a good setting that is loud but doesn’t clip. you can then set you virtual amp settings in garageband to adjust gain.

remember when ever you see red led on presonus or the virtual led turn red in garageband track you have clipping

play around with all the settings you’ll figure out a lot that way. if you bring your recording stuff this week i can help you out. doing recording is a learning thing like playing guitar it takes a lot of practice to get good at it.
